Alice in Chains
Photo Book

+

Chronicling Alice in Chains’ last 15 years of experiences, the band’s bass tech and photographer, Scott Dachroeden, along with the assistant tour manager, Todd Shuss, had a unique front row seat capturing some of the most intimate photos fans have ever gotten to see of the band. A real life texture of life on the road.

We were engaged to help shape what these guys had started, when Scott began assembling photos—giving the world an inside look at the band. We gladly grasped the baton and immersed ourselves into a rich and visceral journey that aged just right with the band’s maturing into their second incarnation.

+ Strategy

The approach was simple. Take the 320+ pages of dramatic and dynamic images and bring it to life in show-stopping book of photography. Scott and Todd had begun the initial puzzle of selecting photos and our team took those visions further by crafting a full book design, cover, and endpapers as well as a book jacket that also was a double-side, removable poster. Texture, typography and illustrative collages rocked the pages of this folio bringing the band’s fans, close enough to almost touching the band’s instruments. The result was a hefty, full glossy book weighing over four pounds and sitting over an inch and a half thick. Scott sadly passed away in the production of the project and we are forever grateful that his and Todd’s images made it to ink and paper for all to share.

THANK YOU SCOTT for the EYES, CLICKS and HEART
